Hi. My name is Ken Nangle. I've lived in San Francisco since 1977, got married (again) in 1983, raised my two daughters here and am the extremely happy grandfather of four (3 boys, 1 girl.)
After being discharged from the Army in 1971, I entered the restaurant business where I spent the next six years with a couple of large restaurant chains and opening a 400 seat jazz club in Newburyport, Mass. That didn't work out so, I headed west and ended up here in San Francisco, a wonderful place.
Following a briefer sojourn back to the restaurant and the headhunting businesses in the hospitality industry, I entered the technology field in 1982. After a few partnerships I founded my own company, The Power Store and embarked on an adventure that involved growing from me in my garage to a 50 person high tech software development and consulting company. Like all good things, that came to an end too.
For the next four years I consulted for several companies from a small custom software development company doing marketing to a position as CTO for a 600M electrical contracting company. But, it was time for change again.
From late 2004 until the end of 2008 I became a franchisee of The Alternative Board, a peer advisory services and consulting practice providing coaching, advice and board facilitation to dozens of businesses.
Now, I'm back at the technology thing again having found a renewed level of energy in the industry. I'm now dedicating my professional efforts at helping businesses move their information technology function from the server room to the Internet.
